One Room Challenge: Laundry Room (Week 1)

Maybe I've lost my mind, I'm not sure, but I'm doing another One Room Challenge makeover this season. If you've never heard of it, Linda from Calling it Home hosts this mass online event twice a year, and hundreds of people join in to start and finish a room makeover in just 6 weeks. It's insane, but also incredibly rewarding. I've done several of them already:

Bedroom | Office | Nursery | Powder Room

You can also see all of these in my ORC page, also.

Ok so let's get to the good stuff. The actual room I'm making over! This year I decided to tackle our laundry room. It's always a mess in there, and we need to move the machines around anyway, so why not just make the whole room over, right? Slowly we're working on having the entire main floor of the house made over, and this will bring us one giant step closer!

So here's the deal with this room. It used to be (part of) the kitchen.

It's slightly smaller now, but this is where it all started. Tho upper cabinets on the right are still in the room, and I'm undecided on whether I'll keep them or toss them. We do need the storage quite badly, so we'll see. Now, before I share my entire mood board with you, I actually need your help! I need you to help me choose between two different looks. The first includes a lemon removable wallpaper (that I am obsessed with), which will include some other yellow accents in the room. The wall colour will likely be blush to match the wallpaper, in this case, and just one wall will be dedicated to this fun little print. The rug here is jute with a yellow border (but maybe white with a natural border is best?) and that texture would be repeated in the space with baskets. Truth be told, this is my favourite option. The second option has blush walls and a very bold Chartreuse rug with roses. I am head over heels in love with this rug, you guys. Like, heart eyes all day long. Me. In love with something this bold! Crazy, no? Anyway, the plan here would be somewhat similar - pink, yellow, muddy green (or maybe navy?) on the cabinets. So this is where I desperately need you to tell me which one you love most.Oh, and if you happen to have suggestions to really throw a wrench in my plans, please feel free to do so!Remember to check out all of the participants of the One Room Challenge, and I'll see you back here at the same time next week with a decision on the design, a full mood board, and more on what the room currently looks like!Huge thanks to the wonderful companies sponsoring this makeover!
