The Friday Five: Good to Know

Make-your-own-rug.jpg

The Friday 5: First EditionI love being in the know of things.  It gives me this weird sense of being extra accomplished, for some reason, when I know little tiny details about things that maybe, just maybe, the rest of the world isn't quite aware of just yet.  I also just like to know new things even if the rest of the world does already know, and it's really only new to me... I'm aware that I can't know everything, I just want to, okay?!  So this week's Friday 5 is all about being in the know of some important/interesting/eyebrow-raising stuff.  Ready?

Here are this week's picks:

Make your own rugWANT!!!!  How flippin' cute is this rug?  Oh and if you read the post by A Beautiful Mess here, you'll see they suggest making a red heart-shaped one next - that was totally in my brain before I even read it!  Heart-shaped rug happening soon in the Murray home, folks.  You just wait.

.

TargetTipsHi, my name is Thalita and I am a Target addict.  Boy, that felt good to get off my chest!  I know... many of you are well aware of my problem (namely Lara, who no longer even wants to ask me where I got something because 9 out of 10 times the answer is "Oh, Target!" She gets me).  But can any of you blame me?  Honestly?  Probably not.  So if you like Target even a little, you need to read this blog post by The Mom Creative.  EH-VUH-REE-THING in it is important.  If... no wait...WHEN you read this post, you'll see a photo with purses.  See the one on the far right with the brass circles?  I just got that last week.  For $7.  SEVEN DOLLARS, PEOPLE!  Down from $30.  It took everything in me not to skip out of the store singing.  Sure, I sound like a belly dancer now, everywhere I go, but I can dig it, you know?

.

Christie Antique ShowRemember that time I posted about the Junction Flea Market and people went all wild over it?  (That was only a slight exaggeration.)  Well there's another curated, urban show happening in our area soon called The Christie Antique Show.  The deets are up there for you and you can check out more here.  I am itching to go....

.

Zara home collectionI'm probably the last blogger on Earth to post about this, but here goes.  Zara's home line is now available in Canada!  Are you shocked?  Probably not, I know.  Sorry... I am always late to the party.  There are some STUNNING things that are officially on my "I'm never gonna get this" wishlist, like the stuff up there.  The flatware is so, so, so yummy, and the stripes on that bedding are dreamy.  All of these beautiful things can find a home right here if they get lonely in the big Zara stores.  Oh and yes, that's a leaf-shaped serving dish with a snail on it.  Adorbs.

.

In typical "late to the party" fashion, I give you the most played song in the history of songs!  Ok, so that wasn't quite an accurate fact, but seriously, who hasn't heard of Lorde by now?!?!  Here are some things you may or may not know:  she is 16, from New Zealand, INSANELY talented, real name is Ella Yelich-O’Connor and she has had her song "Royals" played over 7 MILLION times on Spotify! I am as obsessed with this song as I am with shopping at Target.  Help me.  {Source for some of my info on Lorde}

.

Ok just before I go, final reminder that you have until tomorrow to enter to win a framed 8x10 print and some other surprise goodies!  You can go here and scroll to the bottom of the post to enter (don't forget to actually click the +1 boxes) or you can go to my Facebook Page and click the "Giveaway" tab to enter.  I'll announce the two winners Monday morning, to start the week off right!

Fingers crossed for all of you!
